Mike Ellison hails from Ethiopia, grew up in Virginia and fully realized himself as an artist in Detroit. With his forthcoming release, FLYTANIUM, the lyricist combines global sensibility and incisive poeticism with musical influences ranging from hip-hop to soul and electronica. This latest recording signals an evolution for Ellison, who previously released the independent albums AfroFlow (flowing from Africa) and AfroFlow II under the moniker MIKE-E.

With acting credits that span film, theater and television, the multi-faceted performer often employs entertainment as a vehicle to support social and charitable endeavors throughout the United States and his birth country. Ellison has headlined national concert and community outreach tours with major non-profits like the American Cancer Society, while aiding fund-raising efforts for health initiatives across Ethiopia, including orphan support programs and the construction of several clinics.
