This year’s Playoffs have been good to the NBA on television, and sometimes for all the wrong reasons. The off court battle between L.A. Clippers’ owner, Don Sterling and the league have, no doubt, added viewers to the games. The primetime match-up between the Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets — in which the reigning champs were beat by the NBA’s newest team — pulled in nearly 2.4 million black viewers.

CBS continued to be the most watched TV network in black households. It claimed 11.1 million viewers across 10 shows. ABC was second with 10. million watchers with nine shows, while NBC took third with five million across five programs.

The total number of viewers for the Top 25 shows in black households, according to Nielsen, first full week in May was down three percent from the previous week to 27.5 million.
