2013 was quite the year for the young KIDD. The Infiltrate Music artist released a critically-acclaimed debut album, was featured prominently on hip hop websites and was voted by the fans as Rapzilla.com’s 2013 New Artist of the Year last month. Not bad for a 17-year old. KIDD follows up the big win with his first visual from his debut project ‘Muder My Flesh‘.

The video, for the song “Welcome to the Jungle”, is an authentic glimpse into KIDD’s childhood, as the Las Vegas native takes a sobering look at ‘Sin City’s’ scene. With a heavy backdrop of strippers, sex, money, fashion and poverty, KIDD positions himself from the other side of the looking glass, taking away the glamour image that most have in their minds when they think of Vegas. Over sounds that were crafted by JGramm (who has also produced for Chief Keef, Travis Scott, Emilio Rojas), and a chorus that features the voice of Je’kob, they welcome you to the exotic jungle that is LV. Keep an eye out for cameo’s by Grammy-winning teenage producer Tyshane Thompson and Matt Massaro (808xEliTE).

For a young artist who was signed at just 16, such authentic content is sure to catch some listeners off guard. Blessed with maturity far beyond his years, KIDD aims to be a positive voice and role model for his peers who are often influenced by the negative surroundings of their society. In that sense, “Welcome to the Jungle” is an autobiographical picture of survival and the way to the light in the midst of dark surroundings.

The video was directed, filmed, and edited by Philip Rood.
