I know I know, this music shit can be extremely frustrating right? Why can’t you just fall back and make music and then it magically appear on the radio (that would be dope right?)… sorry to break it to you but that ain’t happenin. It’s time to focus! Why wait to be great? The first step to stepping it up a notch is realizing that you need to step it up a notch. Don’t be the starving artist begging for their music to get heard – be the smart artist that has their shit together. Be the artist that makes dope music and knows how to handle their business. There are those that wish it would happen then there are those that make it happen, what category do you fall into?
Artists! Analyze your situation and make the necessary changes to take your career to another level. There’s way too much competition out there for you to be playing around with your music career. It’s time to get SERIOUS. If you don’t know or are unsure about something do the research and find the answers. Learn as much as you can. Knowledge is power in life and in music. Get organized! Get your music catalog in order, pick out your most marketable music. Start investing in some serious promotion behind it and really get your brand out there. Don’t wait for someone else to do it for you. It’s now or never. Go hard or go HOME. All that ego is just gonna leave you broke!
At times it might feel pretty impossible, but to be honest that’s all in your head. I’m not gonna be cheesy and be on that “be all you can be” ish, however if music is your passion you can definitely go far if you’re willing to work for it. Too many artists out here are talented as F*ck but the problem is that they let it get to their head and they think that someone is just going to come along and fall in love with their music and all of their worries will be gone. Ummmm how realistic is thLet me ask you a question…are you Hungry or Starving? If you’re starving (you only kinda want it) but if you’re HUNGRY…you will have the DO WHATEVER IT TAKES MINDSET and GET IT DONE. Be passionate and have a desire for your music. I wish you the best of luck!
